Why HitsLink?

Activity by Search Terms

This report shows a transaction summary by search terms.  This report is useful in determining whether certain search terms are effective or not in converting visitors to buyers.

Organic referrals are from non-paid listings in search engines.

Sponsored referrals are from paid listings in search engines.  For a referral to be recorded as sponsored, it must have a campaign identifier on the referring link.  See the campaign tracking implementation guide for more details.

By selecting an item in the 'Campaign' dropdown, you can report on one of the following views of the data:
  • [ All ] - View all activity for the search engine, including both organic and sponsored referrals.
  • [ Organic ] - (same as Non-Campaign) - View only organic activity for the search engine.  Sponsored referrals are filtered out.
  • [ Sponsored ] - View only sponsored activity for the search engine, which is all activity coming from campaigns.  Organic (non-campaign) referrals are filtered out.
  • [ Organic vs. Sponsored ] - View both organic and sponsored referrals.
  • Or select a campaign to view that campaign's activity only.
